N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

It appears to say "Cheltenham, Mr Cumming"; see other Hayes or Bloxam plants from 'Cheltenham'. It seems likely (in view of the fact that some of his plants were never natives at Cheltenham) that these plants were collected by Mr Cumming 'of Cheltenham'. The same confusion exists regarding some of the plants collected by Henry Ibbotson "of Ganthorpe".

From some googling: There was a a Mr L Cumming MA Esq (1843-1927 - dictionary of British Botanists @ http://books.google.com/books?id=thmPzIltAV8C&pg=PA806&lpg=PA806&dq=%22Cumming+L%22+Botany&source=bl&ots=9Er4hLifR_&sig=cZYkpdCu63aUek7qxdYCRxwcTCc&hl=en&ei=aYXlStmNJYmZjAfJzL2hBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAsQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=&f=false ) who was a master first at Cheltenham College and started their Natural History Society - contributing Botanical input amongst other - they seem to have travelled about a lot and had a resultant specimen collection.

(Appears as L Cumming and L Gumming in it)
He then moved to Rugby school (probably by 1876 as edited their plant list of that year and is listed in 1890 as on the staff

Assuming interpreted the above correctly would that be enough to make the Hayes or Bloxham's Cheltenham Cumming : Mr L Cumming (1843-1927) and if so is it worth recording him as a "from" in the Herbarium box if not the Collector for this and the other examples?

Edit: tagged for L Cumming

He, then, is Linnaeus Cumming (Gumming is an electronic 'typo'). The link to the Cheltenham College NHS also reveals a Mr Bloxam as a fellow officer of the Society.

Perhaps plants from Cumming should be treated as 'comm.'
