N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Could this be 1829 again?!

If the collector is Robert Dundas Thomson, later to be FRS, Wikipedia gives his life span as 21 Sept 1810 – 17 Aug 1864. In 1829 he would have been studying for his MD in Glasgow.

Evidently with botanical interests at an early age, in A Flora of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Volume 2 By George Johnston. 1831 under ADDITIONAL SPECIES, Tragopogon major it states:
"Frequent on the banks of the Tweed at Birgham and Lennel, and in the fields near Eccles," Mr R.D. Thomson.
...
For this very interesting addition to out wild plants, the botanist is solely indebted to Mr R. D. Thomson, son of the Rev. Mr Thomson of Eccles; and I have much pleasure in recording the discovery, - the more so as my young friend is a native of the county whose vegetable productions I have attempted to describe.
