Arthur Bennett has two other Mentha in 1888 (239283 and 361972). These have in writing and in print 'Hort Croydon' which may be what you have here. It may also be North of Cornwall by Mr Curnow, William Curnow, who seems to have collected specimens in Cornwall which AB later cultivated.
