N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Any suggestions re Woods site - crossed-out part illegible - he has specimens from Italy, though not Florence

Although in his book (The tourist's flora : a descriptive catalogue of the flowering plants and ferns of ... Italy, and the Italian islands (1850)) Woods mentions Veronica peregrina on page 269 as from only Fr[ance] Verdun and Hamb[urg?], at the front on page xi under GEOGRAPHICAL NOTICES he lists 'Flor.' as an abbreviation for Florence, and the name occurs several times in the book. On the same page is 'Brioni. An island near Fiume' (now Brijune and Rijeka, Croatia). Is this Woods with a specimen he knows to be 'Italian' writing something like Brioni on a label then changing his mind and adding Florence in the gap that he often leaves between taxon and location?
