N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

The problem was due to the name change of the BSBI (from Botanical Exchange Club... to Botanical Society and Exchange Club). You can see the reason for a date being rejected by hovering over the date field and looking at the text (shown in red) at the right-hand side.

Might it be best to merge the BSBI name variants back into a single entity - as this seems to cause ongoing problems, for very little gain?

Note that you can ignore error messages and enter the details that you think are correct - the sheet will still save.

regards,

Tom.
