If you read the GR as SP 394959, it works.

Many thanks. I had not followed the Ashby canal so far south. On my map, it looks more like the Coventry canal there but, sure enough, when you look properly there it is.

There is a similar sheet from Ashby de la Zouch,

It's the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal, but the locality is Wykin (I've updated both sheets)
