N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Very many thanks for that. What a lot of literature there is to get hold of!
I am particularly interested in VC48, Merioneth - if you come across any good sources I would be really grateful.

Prompted by Chris, I've been going through some of the Jordan sheets. E F J could be Emily F Jordan referred to here: http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/272543/

RCRJ has sheets from at least two of his brothers and mostly refers to them by initials.

There were three brothers and a sister (from Teignmouth)
Robert Coane Roberts Jordan,
Charles James Rufus Jordan,
William Risdon Hall Jordan (see image below) and
Francis Selina Sophia Jordan.
The daughter of R C R Jordan and his wife Elizabeth was Emily Frances Jordan - see image below
For many years R C R Jordan and his family lived in / around Birmingham where he was a medic at Queen's College. Apart from his botanical contributions, he wrote papers and letters to many entomological and natural history journals.
