N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This specimen is annotated "Witts colln" identifying it as ex herb (and almost certainly coll) Rev E F Witts, Patron and Rector of Upper Slaughter. A letter from Witts to W Baxter (curator, Oxford Botanic Garden) gives an average date of 1836 for the collection. Witts's father's diaries have been published as 'The Diary of a Cotswold Parson' (1978) ed. Verey.

The letters "ACBW" (not ACRW) refer to Witts's granddaughter Miss A Broome-Witts who inherited his herbarium and appears to have donated it to GLR.
