N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

as mentioned before, Par, Pra and Praa are semingly different spellings for the same place. Are we sure that Pra is the 'correct' version?

Ordnance survey spells it as 'Praa Sands' but suggestions for the 'correct' version from someone with local knowledge would be very welcome.

In more general terms I've not really resolved how to cope with placename spelling variants - I can easily retrospectively update names where there are duplicate entries or variants of the same name, but I don't currently actively merge names as they are entered (as happens to some extent with collector names, where this can be done with greater confidence).
