notes:Cuttings form the original bush from which the hybrid was named, near Thornhill, Dumfrieshire, were kindly supplied me by its discoverer, Mr. Jas. Fingland; hort., Bornemouth. .... As Wild specimens of this hybrid are likely to be very scarce, I send some which , grown in lght soil, are almost indistinguishable from the wild specimens in my possession. - EDWARD F. LINTON.
