Image:Scrophularia umbrosa herbarium specimen from Scoulton, VC28 West Norfolk in 1917 by Rev Douglas Montague Heath.
fruits/flowers:seeds/fruits
notes:Answers to umbrosa Dunn [Bab] for leaves, bracts etc. and in cymes few flowered [1-8] but not in cymes being few.
Br[itish] H[erbarium] say none of these characters are constant, [and] make one species of aquatica.
This seems exactly like the shalbourn Berks specimen [Coll C.P. Hunt] and answers equally well to Babingtons description for umbrosa, Dunn, Babington states however that this is not alata Gilib, as Lon[don] Catalogue says.

Inferred details are marked.
