notes:"Large broad leaves (40-60mm. broad), more acuminate than usual, thinner, paler green, and with small sharper serrations. Not the var. ovata Hoppe & Sternb., which has "almost sessile leaves." H S Thompson" - W.B.E.C. Report, 1920.
