Biography

Born 17 September 1910 in Kensington, London.
Botanical interest began at the age of ten.
After WWI her father retired from RN and the family moved to the Parkhill estate near Arbroath in Angus.
1929 given 'The Student's Handbook of British Mosses', written by HN Dixon, for 19th birthday.
1943 after the death of her father administered Parkhill.
1952 external BA degree of London University in classics. MA 1956.
Bryofloras for Wigtownshire in 1956, and for Angus in 1966.
A Guide to the study of Lichens (1959)
Introduction to British Lichens (1970)
A Flora of East Ross-shire (1980)
Died 27 January 1985 at Arbroath.
