N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Woods' other collections around this date are from NW and NE Yorks; several minor Croft names in N Yorks.

The record shows that Woods was en route to Durham. In those days the Great North Road crossed the Tees at Croft.

Thanks - an interesting journey - coach or horse? Trying to think whether this was before or after George Borrow's accounts of the road
