Peter Geoffrey Taylor often gives two numbers on labels. Does the one at left 541/1 refer to genus/sp. and the other at right to specimen?

I have now found that the left-hand number, 541/1, is that given for Digitalis purpurea by George Claridge Druce (1850-1932) certainly in his "British Plant List Containing The Spermophytes, Pteridophytes and Charophytes", (2nd edition; 1928; and possibly in the 1st edition entitled "List of British Plants", 1908). Many of the reports of the Botanical Exchange Club in its various guises during the period also use the system, as does Druce's last work "The Comital Flora of the British Isles" (1932). 541 is the genus number for Digitalis, and 1 for the species purpurea.
