i was trying to complete all available equisquitum(?) sheets
if you type equ into the taxon search you get 3 set returned
however when selected they all show a fault and cannoit be accessed.

Thanks for highlighting this. There was a problem with the database query that determined which sheets where still available for documentation: some sheets from Birmingham (around 10%) had already been documented prior to the herb@home project. As part of the herb@home work these were photographed, (so that images could be attached to the pre-existing records). The specimen search was not excluding these from the search results even though it was not possible to select these sheets for documentation.

I've updated the search function so that it now correctly returns no available sheets for a search for 'equisetum'.

is this why the total for the British and Irish ferns seems to have dropped by about 150?

Yes, probably (I'd not noticed that, but it sounds a possible side effect). Work on the database this morning has also meant that the total number of sheets reported as documented has decreased slightly.

In both cases these decreases represent errors with the counting that have now been corrected. The real number of sheets documented or available has not changed, and the totals for individual users won't have been affected.

Hopefully the total numbers are now accurate.
