Although it is possible for me to edit collector wiki pages and review them using 'Show preview', 'Save page' is not working.

This problem continues! The answer appears to be to delete all the page content, or, of course, not to bother to write it in the first place.

Hi Roger,

I've only just spotted your messages.

Thanks very much for reporting the problem and I'm sorry about the frustration this must have caused. Saving of wiki pages is working again now.

This problem and also several other recent ones were caused by a major database change that I released prematurely and, as has become all too apparent, without adequate testing. I hope that all the new bugs introduced have been resolved now.

Most of the herb@home back-end software is now very old and has become difficult to maintain. To try to improve the situation, I needed to be able to move a working copy of the website to my development server (so that future substantial changes could be worked on without disrupting the live system) but until the database upgrade had been applied, the split between a live and development system was problematic.

I'm working toward changes that will radically overhaul the website, linking the back-end system with the BSBI's main distribution database.

Once complete, this work should improve speed, provide much enhanced search and mapping capabilities, updated taxon names and, by providing herb@home with more modern and maintainable back-end code, hopefully pave the way toward future collaborations and a resumption of active improvement of the system.

regards,

Tom

Many thanks, Tom! I kept back-up copies of the pages I had edited and these are now restored.
