Hi Tom,

I guess it's possible that William Borrer sent a cutting to Rev. Darwall rather than a herbarium specimen. Darwall would then have grown it in his garden, making the herbarium specimen later.

There's also a William Borrer junior who was an ornithologist and died iin 1898 but I don't think it's him.
