Nellie Carter-Montford (1895-1987) obtained her DSc for research on the chloroplasts of green algea, and worked at the universities of Birmingham and Yale, and at Missouri Botanical Garden. She married Horace M Montford in 1932. Nellie seems to have collected alone or together with her husband/husband-to-be in the early 1930s.

If I get the chance I will try to merge these were appropriate.
