N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I've taken this collector as J H Balfour, who has many Midlothian specimens same year; the handwriting and initials just about bear comparison with http://herbariaunited.org/collector/14886/ - I gather photos of his labels are few and far between in h@h currently

Could it be 'JK' for J Knapp? See sheet 282755.

By Jove you've got it! I had found a J Knapp specimen http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/390088/?image , from Midlothian the day after mine, but thought the handwriting different, whereas this is clearly the same
