N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

See http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/236610/ which has a similar label, with same collector's name, and also the illegible initials at the top - rightly or not, I took this as a British specimen.
Hockheim could be: Hochheim am Main, a town in Hesse, Germany
Hochheim, Thuringia, a municipality in Thuringia, Germany
Höchheim, a municipality in the district of Rhön-Grabfeld in Bavaria
There is a Hockenheim (race track) near Heidelberg
From what I can gather, the name Hockheim is an anglicised version, possibly used in the wine trade (hock).[/img]

And to add another point! Although Allmendingen may conceivably be a person's name, there are numerous places of that name, in Germany & Switzerland, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allmendingen So maybe it's the illegible initials on the label that are the collector.

The BEC Rubus referee was Dr W O Focke (see wiki biog) and German material undoubtedly reached British batologists by his agency; see http://herbariaunited.org/specimensearch/?taxon=Rubus&taxonid=2608&collector=&colid=&role=prov&from=&to=&search=search&Country=DE&VC=all&place=&placeid=&Inst=all&search=search#searchlist

Also, 'W Hbg' - could be Herberge (hostel or similar)!?
