The first specimen was gathered "at the Grotto, Penlee, Rame", Cornwall.
"Approaching Dillenii" means Ley thought the plant looked like Anthyllis dillenii, a name given to one of the manifestations of this very variable species. Your reference to Slender Yellow Wood Sorrell betrays a hasty and uncritical use of google and should be deleted.

It's Bally Carbery (not Carhery) Castle.
