N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I have entered GS west, as I have come across a lot of similar sheets, and from the sites etc I felt left in no doubt. Its as if at some stage he did a tidy-up or got someone to, completing a lot of sheets including his father's in a minimalist way, presmably relying on patchy memory; his original note could be under the label; with his father's, he left the original pencil note not covered by a new label. Hope my thoughts are correct!
