It's "glacial...?" - some sort of substrate.

This is probably a reference to categories used / defined by Watson / Baker - mid agrarian etc, there have been a number of sheets with various terms such as lacustral mid agrarian, rupestral.

Yep, agree the note probably is a description of the substrate as does seem a prevalent notation, though the second word even if an abbreviation still eludes me - I can't spot any plausible candidates in the references or elsewhere.... Thanks anyway Mike d'A
