N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This looks more like C.v.oedocarpa to me, but much depends on the size; could be var.bergrothii. R.M.Walls 9 Dec 09

Hi Robin,

The scale bar in the image marks centimetres. There'll be bit of distortion of the photo due to lens distortion but it should still be possible to measure fairly accurately.

The high resolution photo is accessible at:
http://herbariaunited.org/sheets/BON/140709_728.jpg

using something like NIH image it should be possible to take accurate measurements.

regards,

Tom

Thanks for the tip about Image. Using it I get a utricle length of a little less than 3 mm, making C.v.viridula correct, despite the habit and the remote lower spike.

Hi Tom,

Is there a standard "recipe" for a link to such high resolution images?

I am thinking of http://herbariaunited.org/atHomeForm/?release=10d713a9120ffef466251770b3b786a0&edit=284217 where there is a query on the id of Galium uliginosum.
Thanks
Sarah
