N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Yep, now blindingly obvious, and there's a Mr Willis (J. J.) around in 1864! Thanks Mike d'A

FWIW -Not having 'seen' him before - a quick search suggested that Willis seems to have been an active soul, apart from his work at Rothampstead he wrote notes to various journals and periodicals e.g Hertfordshire Natural History Society and Field Club, he seems to have been involved in recording weather (and early aspects of phenology ?) in Hertfordshire; he lived in Harpenden.
