N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I think you've got the date right but I think the collector could be William Mudd

It looks much more like 8/1842 to me; definitely W Mudd. But his earliest specimen that I can find is 1845, one 1849, and all the rest from 1850 onward.

William Mudd 8/1852

Mudd collected many specimens at Newton, which has been wrongly identified on H@H. Mudd's Newton is at NZ571132 beneath Roseberry Topping, a few miles northeast of Great Ayton. Would Tom kindly do a block edit?
