notes:Spores smooth "In estimating length of stipes, some allowance needs to be made for conditions: plants which grow apart, not smothered by other herbage, should be contracted. My garden examples stand clear, each root apart" H C Watson (note in Herb. Boswell) [suggests cultivation was to test whether variety breeding true??]

N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list.
