N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Collector - that person from Chelmsford area again with his (strange) Latin habitats - I haven't been able to identify him. Update: could the collector be Anthony Wallis, who collected around Chelmsford - I have not found an example of his handwriting, though a specimen of his is http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/210199/
An address by him on the flora of Chelmsford is in Procs Bot Soc London p34; http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=TFsCAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=proceedings+botanical+society+london&source=bl&ots=oA5oLshwBE&sig=Y9pTadhH8_66fZLuoHmBSHV2MLU&hl=en&ei=wQFGTKPgDpXNjAe40dH0Bg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CEIQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

The following may be relevant
Arthur Wallis
Born Springfield - 18th June 1816, mother Mary Ann Wallis (nee Marriage), one of 8 children; father Abraham (Quaker family, records in The British Friend; the sheets have Quaker notation for date].
Mother died in 1836.

Contributed "A catalogue of some of the rarer plants growing in the vicinity of Chelmsford" Proc of the Botanical Society of London, Vol 1

and "A catalogue of the Orchidae of Essex" Annals of Natural History, Vol 4.

The 1851 records Arthur Wallis as living in Brighton (2, Bartholomews), the census indicates that he was a printer / bookseller.

Dear Chris thanks very much for that! Could Arthur Wallis be got onto the collector menu? And is Anthony Wallis (the elder) also an Essex collector as indicated by the menu? I wondered if you had found Arthur W named on a sheet, with or without his handwriting, as these Chelmsford specimens are regularly coming to light & cannot be definitely assigned to a collector.
