N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Who collected the Brimscombe plant? http://herbariaunited.org/sheets/GLR/1228.jpg suggests that they were both 'WHP' but I think it is unlikely that Bailey was accompanied by W H Painter (b. 1835) and more probable that it was W H Purchas.

How about J W Haines http://herbariaunited.org/collector/11150/ as the Brimscombe specimen's collector?

Unlikely: J W Haines was not born 'til 1875.
