N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Interesting question! I've been wondering who has this handwriting as the sheets are never signed by the collector. There is one sheet that looks like it might be signed by Henry Haselfoot Haines (http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/234869/). But the writing on this sheet does not resemble all the other sheets attributed to H H Haines. It was also collected much later. The handwriting of most of these sheets is so affected it is perhaps different to his normal handwriting. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this.

There seem to be about 16 sheets attributed to H H Haines - but on most the Haines bit has been added in pencil as an afterthought. The 1944 Salix sheet is signed H H Haines - but the writing is indeed completely different to the other sheets. The dates on the sheets seem to range from 1886 through to 1944. Most curious.

From more recent sheets it is evident this writing indicates herb H H Haines. There is a Southover in Dorset, and one in E Sussex, from where many Haines specimens come - near Burwash at TQ655255
