N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

If this grid ref is read as SN256375, the site is E of Boncath, just in Pembs from Carms, and far south from Evans' other specimens in Cards

When Evans gives a site description it can be quite recognisable, eg sheet 242785 'Salt marsh, Dovey Estuary VC Cards at Ynyslas 2-10 feet' but 'Grid Ref 3 169 3 066' does not make sense. Ynyslas is around OS SN607924 = 22/607924, so I would expect 2 607 2 924. The given grid ref is around Middle Sylfeaen 636 ft VC47 Montgomery! Similarly here and on many of his other sheets I would treat his grid refs as unreliable.

In the present case Evans has transposed his eastings and northings; the GR then matches several of his other gatherings from "Clydey Parish" near Boncath, Pembs. The prefix "2" to his grid reference may be a map sheet number. The altitude is clearly wong and must be 120 (feet).

Evans is presently an environmental biotechnologist at Durham University http://www.power-technology.com/contributors/contributor110/
