N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Looks like W. Marshall but typed transcription by Arthur Bennett reads Rev E Marshall - anyone able to advise please?

Hello Mossysal,

I think this must be Edward Shearburn Marshall who did collect specimens in West Sutherland occasionally. I agree with you that it does look like a W but I'm reassuring myself with the fact that the rest of the handwriting on the label is really terrible. Where it says 'Croydon' I thought it said 'Ceylon'!

Kind regards,

Leander
