Collector's label says "Lastrea aristata" not cristata - isn't that a synonym of Dryopteris dilatata? D. cristata has never grown in Glos.

Yes, this is D dilatata as you say, and I have now corrected the name 'cristata' entered on the record. You are right on all counts: the specimen is labelled aristata; it lacks the mucronate pinnules etc of cristata; aristata is a synonym of dilatata - CTW 2nd ed.
