N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Anyone remember where Borrer lived in 1849?

Perhaps the ponds were in the garden! Borrer's garden, Barrow Hill House, Henfield, West Sussex [OS TQ216153]. meiosis says he was running a village charity there 1815-1855.

His garden 'housed' many 100's of species
"His gardener, Charles Green, was able to compile a list of some 6,000 species growing at Barrow Hill (circa 1860)."
