N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

The collector is I M Gaster who often collected with S M Gaster between 1935 and 1944 in Devon, Dorset and North London. Neither seems to have been a member of the BSBI. All their specimens are at SLBI.

The designation 'ex herb' is only useful when a specimen has previously belonged to a collection with some special association. You could call this "ex herb. Gaster" but it wouldn't add anything significant.
