N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Place name cannot find any town in Devon like! also Records show that on the 13/7/1878 Ley was collecting in Shellack [http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/288675/] would this have been possible then? surely not.

I am afraid I did the sheet you cited - and there is a discrepancy between the curator's label and a scrappy note of Ley's - it should have read 1898!!

Rolling Eyes

So he could have been in Devon in 1878, and in fact I have found Cremyll [sic] Point in Plymouth
OS Grid reference SX452534

Sorry to have wasted your time!

Ley was collecting in the Rame Head area at this time. Moot point whether Cremyll Point is a tiny enclave of Devon on the Cornwall shore - Ley was never wrong!
