N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

By Jove yes? By studying the individual letters, the collector seems possibly to be 'Girtz'? Given the date and location, one can only be relieved if he lived longer than what he was collecting

The stain or fold through the collector name could conceal an 'e'. There was a Swedish botanist Otto Daniel Gertz 1878-1948. Less likely is Karl August Gustav Fiebrig-Gertz, 1869-1951, who, although German born, spent most of his life in South America.
