N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This sheet keeps coming round 'partially completed' so I've had a go at reading the label again. The writer seems very well read in the early literature relating to European flora. I've added in [] what I and G**gle have found which appears to be a review of Primula nomenclature! The most difficult line to read contains the location, though I would read the date as '1845' for what it's worth. Any ideas please?!

Christine Bartram of the Cambridge University Herbarium suggests that the final name here is Philip Anton Christoph Endress, with the last letter written as 'ß'. He obtained duplicates from other botanists, so true collector may be different. As he died in 1831 the date must be earlier than that. He is in the database but none of his specimens has an image. There is, however, an IMAGE of his signature on the web, in a less florid style. There is another, much more similar, example in Taxon (1973) 22, 389, but I think it may still be under copyright.
