Image:Rubus herbarium specimen from Ansley, VC38 Warwickshire in 1887 by Mr James Eustace Bagnall.Rubus herbarium specimen from Ansley, VC38 Warwickshire in 1887 by Mr James Eustace Bagnall.
ocrnotes:R. Maasii, Focke, = R. umbrosus (Bab. Man.), Ansley, Warwickshire, 20th August, 1887. As this is one of the commonest British brambles, I have only sent a limited supply, assuming that it is only required as a voucher for correctness in nomenclature.--J. E. Bagnall. This plant, Mr. Baker thinks, should be called R. potyanthemos, Lindeb. It is undoubtedly the umbrosus, Bab., carpinifolhis, Blox.. and R. Maasii, Lond. Cat., but differs totally from specimens named R. Maasii for Mr. Baker by Dr. Focke, which is the R cordifolius of English authors.--G. N.
