notes:E.G Baker writes of this specimen:"An arvensis violet belonging to the section having a foliaceous median lobe to stipule. Closely allied to V.agrestis,Jordan,differing pricipally in having the bracteoles close to the curvature of the peduncle, instead of rather lower." E.F.Linton writes:"This seems to be the var.gracilescens, DC. (V.gracilescens, Jord.) of V.arvensis. The leaves and stipules are rather fuller than in continental specimens, as is usual in our more humid climate."
