Herbarium specimen: Sagina apetala

Taxon:Caryophyllaceae: Sagina apetala Ard. ("Annual Pearlwort")
Other name:Sagina ciliata var. ambigua
det. Charles Edgar Salmon

I believe this to be a rather condensed state (due no doubt to situation) of S. ciliata Fr., var ambigua Corb. (= S. patula Jord., var glabra Lloyd). The shape of the leaves, etc., precludes and maritima form.
