Biography

Born near Altdorf, Ravensburg, Württemburg, on 26 January, 1806.
Obtained an MD and became a pharmacist in Berne, Switzerland.
Close working relationship with Robert James Shuttleworth.
Emigrated to America in 1840 and settled in Dandridge, Tennessee.
Died on 31 December, 1879, in Jefferson County.
