Current progress
There are currently specimens images available for documentation from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the South London Botanical Institute (Norwood Road, near Herne Hill).
More sheets online
The project has uploaded and documented many thousands of images from Birmingham University (total ~ 35 000 images), 5000 images from Bolton Museum and the Charterhouse School collection.
The British Isles' sheets from the herbarium of the South London Botanical Institute are also being processed. To date, some 42,000 SLBI sheets have been added to the database.
Currently, volunteers are working on sheets from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Watch-lists
You can now receive email updates whenever herbarium specimens of interest to you have been documented. You can choose to be notified when particular taxa are documented, or when records from a particular area (either a specific place name or a county) are recorded.
Email updates can be sent daily, weekly or monthly.
To set up or edit a herbarium specimen watch-list go to
herbariaunited.org/watchlist/.
It is hoped that to some degree that the direction and development of the project can be driven by feedback from participants - the contributors, that is, YOU. Please let us know what changes and improvements you'd like to see.
