notes: | 2 specimens on right from typed label ---------------------- Lychnis dioica L., with pale pink flowers, turning darker and bluer on drying: ? hybrid. Though growing with L. alba in a field of 'seeds' near Radstock, N. Somerset, v.c.6, June 1916, Mr. Marshall says: "I do not see clear evidence of the alba parent, and fancy that it is a colour form of L.diurna; but i am not sure about it: it is full young."--H.S.Thompson. "Perhaps so critical a point is best settled from fresh specimens."--J.W.W. in litt. ------------------ |
