notes:Rootstock apparently perennial stem short, above two inches high leaves alternate; lower leaves stalked, the upper sessel flowers sometimes two or three together, sometimes solitary in the axils of the leaves.

These specimens are evidently the much dwarfed varieties of Campanula glomerata mentioned by Bentham as growing in very dry soils.
