notes:This is I firmly believe V arenicola Chabert, I had it under cultivation for 20 years in my Neston garden, [and] watched it carefully.
If looked for early it can be generally found in flower, by the end of Feb[ruary] long before V. sylestris, of which the late Mr Beeby considered it, " a depanperate form E.S.G
Spur blue, usualy slightly grooved; veins of lower petels 7 [or more], not reaching edge.
