Image:Viola riviniana x lactea herbarium specimen from Chepstow, VC35 Monmouthshire in 1908 by Dr William Andrew Shoolbred.
fruits/flowers:mature flowers
notes:Origin, Tidenham Chase, W. Glos. where it grows with both parents, the hybrid being appropriately more abundant than V. lactea, Sm. I have had the plant in cultivation for three or four years, and although cliestogamous flowers are produced in abundance no capsule has ever been produced - W. A. Shoolbred. A good intermediate, which I saw last year growing with the parents - E. S. M. At first sight this hybrid is unconvincing; but on examination one realizes that the characters of Iactea and Riviniana are about equally blended - E. S. Gregory.

Inferred details are marked.
