notes: | Possibly the first specimen discovered in Britain. With specimen is a letter from John Knox and some typed explanatory paragraphs from Dr White. The latter says that in Don's original bound volume this specimen was labelled in Don's writing with 'Carex ustulata Burnt Carex on Ben Lawers I discovered this in 1810.' |
