Herbarium specimen: Erodium cicutarium var. chaerophyllum

Taxon:Erodium cicutarium var. chaerophyllum (Cav.) DC. ("Common Stork's-bill")
Collection date:13/5/1822
Locality:Great Britain, VC83 Midlothian, Edinburgh, NT2872
donated by:Prof John Hutton Balfour (Donation to Perth Literary and Antiquarian Society, apparently arranged by William Carmichael MacIntosh ) 1880
Institution:Perth Museum and Art Gallery (PTH)
Accession number:PTH.2005.27.1558
notes:There are indications on the left edge of the sheet that it was
larger and folded over, probably forming a folder that opened
like a book, with the specimens on the inside right side. There
is also a faint mirror image, at the top of the sheet above the
specimens, of the writing on the large label at the bottom of
the sheet. This writing must therefore have been on the top
inside of the left side of the folder in order to form the
mirror image on the right side above the specimens. The left
side of the folded sheet was clearly removed, and the label cut
out of it and stuck below the specimens. This is probably true
of all sheets in this style.

Inferred details are marked.
